MARGARITO DELA GUETTO
Margarito dela Guetto (Mallorca, 19XX) steps away from his usual themes or subjects to perform an ode to his parents. In this peculiar family portrait, however, the photographer doesn’t abandon the style that makes his work so recognisable. Using everyday objects that often go unnoticed, the subjects act as anonymous mannequins to recreate imaginary and surrealistic characters portraying a lockdown with humour and resilience. Ultimately, this series is the artist’s ode to his parents and a symbol of love and gratitude towards them.
En este proyecto, Margarito dela Guetto (Mallorca, 19XX) se aleja de sus temas y sujetos habituales para llevar a cabo una oda a sus padres; un retrato familiar en el que sin embargo el fotógrafo no abandona el estilo que lo caracteriza. En estos peculiares retratos de familia los protagonistas actúan como maniquíes anónimos y utilizan objetos cotidianos para recrear personajes imaginarios, surrealistas, que reflejan el confinamiento desde el humor, la resiliencia y el costumbrismo, y que para el artista son una muestra de gratitud y amor a su familia.
